Oregon Fish & Wildlife is in the process of draining Diamond Lake so they can poison it. Chub, a type of fish used as live bait, have taken over the lake, taking all the food and space from the native Trout. They upped the number of fish you can take and have been pulling hundreds of pounds of chub out in drift nets (they brought us 500 lbs in garbage bags for our bears). They're trying to empty out as many fish as they can before they poison it in the fall. They've even built new docks so you can reach the water, as you can see the old ones are useless now. After the poison has had time to dissipate, they'll refill and restock the lake.
