It began to rain as soon as we left Roseburg Friday morning. As we climbed up into the Cascades toward the 5,200-foot-high Diamond Lake, the rain quickly turned to snow. How funny... in Roseburg, they hardly ever get snow, even in the dead of winter, only rain. 80 miles to the east, its snowing in late May.
