The Big Obsidian Flow- 170 million cubic yards of obsidian and pumice erupted from a vent in the Newberry Volcano 1,300 years ago, making it the most recent flow from Newberry and the youngest lava flow in Oregon.


This volcanic glass was often used to make tools and knives by Native Americans.
