Paulina Peak (7,985 feet) - part of the wall of the 17 square mile caldera at the summit of a 500 square mile Newberry Volcano.

From Paulina Peak, the highest point in the monument, we could look down into the caldera at Paulina Lake, one of the deepest lakes in Oregon at 250 feet,

East Lake, and the Big Obsidian Flow.

As you can tell by Chris's face, it was rather uncomfortable up there, incredibly cold and windy, but the view was amazing.
