Due to a couple major road washouts from the winter flooding, we ended up having to take this massive detour in order to get back to the interstate. We drove southeast, through the mountains and into the Washington Desert.


As we reached the town of Naches, we turned and started going southwest, back towards Rainier. All said we drove about 88 miles, instead of about 15 miles if the road had been open…
