That night, I traveled to the 'counterculture' area of Seattle, Fremont, known for its eccentric sculptures and exhibits, such as the Fremont Troll, an 18-foot tall concrete sculpture of a troll crushing a Volkswagen Beetle in its left hand, created in 1990 and situated under the north end of the Aurora Bridge.



This is a revamped, dismantled circa 1950 cold war rocket fuselage. The 53' high Rocket now bears the Fremont crest and motto, "De Libertas Quirkas"—which means "Freedom to be Peculiar."
