Near the end of October, I had the opportunity to travel to Washington for a Zoo Alliance Meeting. I worked it out so I could visit the 3 zoos nearby during my trip. To get there, I drove through the volcanically active WA Cascades (Mt St Helens and Mt Rainer)



First stop, Northwest Trek. It's set up similar to Wildlife Safari, a small walk around area and a large drive-thru. You don't drive your own vehicle through the park however, you ride a tram. All the animals at the Trek are native to North America, like this Mountain Goat.
